WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility audits

Accessibility audits your whole team can read.

We scan every page of your website, test the key journeys by hand, and explain each problem in plain English: what's wrong, who it affects and how to fix it.

What's wrong
The home link says one thing on screen and another to assistive technology, so voice control users can't activate it.
How to fix
Make the hidden label match the visible text.
Where
Every page, in the header and footer. One template fix clears it everywhere.

How it works

From first scan to fixed in four steps

  1. We scan every page

Our scanner checks each page against WCAG 2.2 AA using axe-core, the industry-standard open-source engine.

  2. A person tests it

We use your key pages and forms with a keyboard, a screen reader and zoom, which automated tools can't do.

  3. You get the report

A plain-English report with a "fix these first" list, then a call to walk through it together.

  4. Fix and retest

Your team fixes the issues, or we do. We retest and show what changed.

Straight talk

No tool can make a website compliant on its own

Automated checks find roughly a third to a half of accessibility problems. That's why every Checked audit includes testing by a person, and why we'll never sell you a widget that claims to fix everything.

What we test by hand

  • Every page and form with only a keyboard
  • Key journeys with NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers
  • Zoom to 200% and 400%, and on a phone
  • Whether alt text and link text actually make sense
  • Form errors, focus order and pop-ups

Questions

Common questions

What is WCAG 2.2 AA?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are the international standard for accessible websites. Level AA is the level most laws and policies refer to, including UK public sector rules.

Does the European Accessibility Act apply to us?

It applies to many consumer services sold in the EU, including online shops, from June 2025. UK businesses selling to EU customers can be in scope. Very small businesses providing services are exempt. We can help you work out where you stand, but we're not lawyers.

Will this make our website legally compliant?

The audit shows where your site meets WCAG 2.2 AA and where it doesn't, and how to fix it. Fixing the issues is what makes the difference. Our report is a technical assessment, not a legal certificate.

How long does an audit take?

A Snapshot is usually ready within two working days. A Checked audit typically takes one to two weeks, depending on the size of the site and how many journeys we test.

Do you need access to our website's admin?

No. We test your public site as visitors see it. If you'd like us to test pages behind a login, we'll agree a test account with you.
